Vendor Spotlight: Hidden Essence (Florist)

I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle of Hidden Essence over one year ago. I was initially drawn to her winning personality then her true talent.
Michelle has been designing floral arrangements for all occasions since 1992. Starting in a small, retail flower shop where she quickly learned many techniques to floral design.

After years of designing, Michelle decided she wanted to venture into the wedding aspect of the floral business and started designing for several wedding companies on Long Island. In doing so, she has perfected many different techniques of her own and in 2006, she followed her dream of owning her own business and founded Hidden Essence.

Michelle is very knowledgeable and would love to design your wedding!

Vendor Spotlight:Couped-Up Productions

I really do work with some great vendors!Rob of Couped-Up Productions was such a pleasure to work with at Brina& Nick's wedding and we thought that other brides would definitely benefit from his services.Yes, you want a videographer that will capture all the beauty of your day, but all your vendors need to also have personality, and Rob does. This man really has a passion for what he does. We conducted a little interview with Rob and this is what he had to say:

What services do you offer?

I specialize in weddings and wedding videography only. I recoded in HD and in true 16x9. I try to edit the wedding video around the feeling that I get when I am there watching it happen. For example, Elegant weddings take on one style of editing while upbeat crazy wedding take on a whole other light.

How long have you been in business?

I have been capturing wedding memories since 1995 working for a well known long island video company. In 2000 I started Couped-Up Productions as a wholesale solution for other photographers and event videographers. Then in 2007 I decided to stop being the "man behind the curtain" for others and move Couped-Up Productions to the foreground.

What is your most memorable moment as a videographer?

Besides watching the Groom faint numerous times or guests go a little to crazy, I would have to say my most memorable moments are when I can look at a couple and know that its right. That they are there for the right reason. Than years later run into them and see that it is still all there. I have seen my fair share weddings to know that it's just a matter of time before it is all going to be over.

If you could tell brides one reason they should hire a videographer, what would it be?

After the day has passed the music has stopped, the cake was eaten, the dress has been hung up and the fancy limo ride is no more it is wonderful to be able to relive the expressions and actions of loved ones through live video on your special day. The value of video becomes greater as time goes by. It's a gift you give to yourselves and your future children.

Getting Guests to Share Wedding Photos

On the most memorable day of your life you want to see all the pictures that were taken, right? So how do you get guests to share their pictures? Many brides create accounts on photo sharing websites to have guests upload pictures, but the problem with that is....no one ever does. Well Kedai has come up with the ultimate solution. Now you can have your guests share their pictures with you on the very same day with a simple hook up to a kedai photo kiosk (KPK). You can rent a KPK for your event and save yourself the headache of sending endless reminders to guests begging to see pictures they took.

They are more dynamic than a photobooth, light years ahead of the disposable camera movement, and their screen makes sharing highly interactive & fun, instead of being assigned to a task that is nearly always procrastinated-upon once the wedding’s over.

THEY ARE OFFERING A SPECIAL:

Before fully releasing the (KPK) to the general public, they are strongly committed to testing it with several brides in the next few weeks and are therefore offering it at a 50% discount at all weddings taking place prior to Memorial Day Weekend.

Vendor Spotlight: Through Crystal Eyes

Through Crystal Eyes is a family owned and operated business that came up with the brilliant idea to handcraft bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages from Swarovski Crystals. This husband and wife team (Sheila & Jay),will handcraft any of the above with crystals in the color of your choice. I had a chance to see their work and their designs are done with such meticulous detail.

Diamonds are a girls best friends, but with the cost of weddings, crystals are becoming a beautiful substitute at an affordbale price. For all my brides that are obsessed with the bling...you will like this option.
